Beautiful Best Block Competition 2005
What's that in the sky? It's a bird...it's a plane...no...no. it's the new banners that Norristown Weed & Seed have mounted above 3 neighborhoods to honor them as "Beautiful Best Block."
As you drive around you'll notice the banners quietly beckoning onlookers to take a closer look and see what Norristown has to offer as a shining place to live and raise a family.
The banners are flying high above the 1000 block of Swede Street, the 200 block of E. Fornance and over the Grand Prize Winning unit block of Jacoby Street. Each residence in those blocks also received door mats, magnets and other trinkets as part of the congratulations for keeping their neighborhood beautiful.
The blocks were all participants in the 2003 Beautiful Best Block Contest. The competition is designed to demonstrate the pride each neighborhood has with points awarded for effort, teamwork, and the establishment of community.
